Five Ways I'm leveling up in 2022

Anyone who’s followed my fitness journey will tell you how much leveling up in that area changed me. This year, I have new goals and new ways in which I’d like to improve my life in order to feel better, be better and just grow in all aspects. With that said, these are the five ways I’m planning to level up my life in 2022:

1. Recommit to my healthy lifestyle

I absolutely loved my 2021 comeback and how amazing I looked as a result of all the hard work I put into working out, eating healthy, and avoiding drama. This year, I want to continue that journey - in fact, I want to go even harder! I plan on adding another form of exercise to my existing routine, doing more strength training to tone up and I also want to finally establish an evening routine to help me get even more self-care and rest, especially after work.

2. Investing more and finally paying off my debt

This is another area I built a good foundation for in 2021 when I finally enlisted the help of a financial advisor. With her help, I hope to finally pay off all my debt this year and put more money into my investments and savings. I also hope to find more opportunities to make more money to fund my dream life.

3. Getting in touch with my inner child

One thing I want to do more of this year is to get back to doing things I loved as a child. Reading and drawing are two of those things which I absolutely loved when I was growing up but which I hardly tap into as a grown-up. I want to explore my creativity through art, visit local libraries and just immerse myself in art and literature. These are all things that have contributed to who I am today and which I’d like to enjoy more of as a form.

4. Invest in my home

I’ve been spending more and more time at home since I quit drinking so I want to make my home even more pleasant to spend time in. I have a couple of DIY projects pending and I want to decorate more (something I’ve neglected in recent years). I want my home to become a sanctuary for my daughter and have it be even more comfortable and enjoyable to be in when I’m not in the streets.

5. Travel more

Solo travel, family vacations, traveling Namibia, or even outside the country. I’d like more of that this year. I want to get back to really living and creating beautiful memories, and traveling is one of the ways in which I get to truly do that.

How do you want to level up in 2022? Let's write all those things down and commit to showing up for ourselves every single day this year.
